Robbery

Newman Police is asking for assistance on a robbery that occurred on 01-31-12 at approximately 1700 hrs at 1062 N Street (All The Stuff You Need). The two suspects, who the clerk said robbed him at gunpoint, were both described as Hispanic male adults,approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, 135 pounds. First suspect was described as wearing, black hooded sweatshirt with a white shirt underneath, blue jeans, white gloves, and a black ski mask. Second suspect was described as wearing, dark grey or green jacket, blue jeans, black shoes, black gloves and a ski mask. The second suspect was armed with an unknown silver and black semi auto style handgun. According to the victim, the suspects entered the store, walked towards the rear of the business and told the clerk "give me everything you got, this isn't a joke". The second suspect then displayed the gun and fired at least one round into the ceiling. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money from the register and fled the area on foot. Stanislaus Area Crime Stoppers is asking for assistance in identifying the suspect(s) responsible in a rash of vandalism to city street lights and power outages in neighborhoods around Modesto. This rash of vandalisms has hit the neighborhoods in the area of Northgate, Ronald Ave, Glenwood & Kearney & Kearney Ave & Roseburg Avenues. These have caused power outages and considerable time and manpower to repair the damages. If you know the suspect(s) who have committed these crimes please contact Stanislaus Area Crime Stoppers. Anyone providing Information leading to the identification or arrest of these individuals is eligible for the cash reward in the case.

Felony Hit & Run

Modesto Police are asking for the public's assistance on a hit and run that left a man dead On Friday morning January 6th 2012 around 6:40 AM. Several citizens called in reporting an elderly bicyclist being hit by a white colored pickup truck at the intersection of Sutter Ave and Rouse Ave. The male bicyclist Ray Rogers 67 years was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injures. Before emergency personnel or law enforcement arrived at the scene, the white colored pick up truck left the scene of the collision. The Modesto Police Department is looking for a white colored pick up truck that may have been in the area of Sutter Ave and Rouse Ave during around 6:40 am.The vehicle may possibly have some minor to moderate damage to the front end bumper area of the truck. The white pick up truck may also have briefly stopped in the area of Rouse Ave near Leon Ave and Colorado Ave. If you witnessed the accident or have information on the white truck please contact Crime Stoppers.

On Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at approximately 4:15 p.m., the subject in the photograph was one of two suspects involved in an armed robbery in East La Loma Park in Modesto. The suspect was in the company of another white male, 16 to 18 years of age, with a large gap between his teeth, and long straggly hair. The white male brandished a bladed instrument and demanded the victim give up his bicycle. For fear of being assaulted, the victim fled on foot. The suspect in the photograph was seen riding the bike out of the park into the McClure Road area. If you can identify the subject in the photograph please contact Crime Stoppers.

She is described as a white female approx. 5'06 130 lbs with brown shoulder length hair. She was accompanied by another female (not shown) during the crime. If you know her identity please call.

Riverbank

Stanislaus Sheriff's Department is attempting to identify the two females shown here. They have been committing burglaries at the Save Mart in Riverbank. Suspect #1 HFA 20 Red hair prescription glasses 5-3 130, Suspect #2, HFa 18 blk hair prescription glasses 5-2 150. They have been seen driving a Black Honda Civic Hatchback with red colored rims. On January 4, 2012 at approximately 3:41 pm, Ceres Police responded to Bank of the West, located on the 2500 block of Whitmore Avenue in Ceres. Witness statements indicate that two, possibly three, suspects entered the bank via the north door. One suspect is described as a black male adult, approximately 6' to 6'2" tall, weighing 175-180 pounds, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, red polo type shirt, beige pants, and black and white shoes. Suspect two is described as a Hispanic male adult, approx 5'8", 180 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, long white shirt, blue jeans, and black and white shoes. Suspect three is described as a Hispanic male adult wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, dark pants, and shoes. Statements indicate that possibly two of the suspects entered a late 90's to early 2000's sedan style vehicle, possibly a brown or tan Toyota, driven by a white female adult with brown hair. The vehicle fled north through the Richland Shopping Center. The third suspect was seen running on foot into a neighborhood north of the bank.

 

Aggravated Assault

On Thursday, September 29, 2011, at approximately 8 a.m., a 40-year old white female was found severely beaten and unconscious in the middle of Mellis Park in Modesto. She was transported to a local hospital where she continues to receive treatment and has yet to regain consciousness. The investigation has revealed the victim, who is not being identified for her safety, had been reported missing from a local care facility before the assault occurred. Modesto Police are investigating the Grand Theft of several ornamental tiki statues. The statues (one shown) were taken from the Minnie's Restaurant located @ 107 McHenry Avenue in Modesto. (cc/inv)
